Kendall County Rebels Travel Baseball

Rebels Travel Baseball provides a fun and competitive opportunity for our players to compete at a high level. Our club supplies an enhanced environment for players to grow their love and respect for the game of baseball. We strive to produce hard working, goal-oriented players that are fundamentally sound, displaying strong and positive leadership qualities in all aspects of life.

We aspire to create a welcoming atmosphere that is family oriented and family friendly. The Rebels organization encourages our players to be multi-sport athletes and supports our players’ interests on and off the baseball field.

Rebels Coaching Staff

Rebels Baseball strongly believes in keeping our players safe and healthy. We use the company Trusted Coaches (https://www.trustedcoaches.org/) to run national background checks for each coach. Also, it provides our coaching staff with concussion protocol training, first aid training, & positive coach development courses.

Please visit https://kendallcountyrebels.org/about-the-rebels/coaches to meet our coaches. Learn more about their personal coaching philosophies and their dedication and commitment to our players and their families.

Player Evaluations

Rebels Baseball holds evaluations each year at each age level. The tryout process takes place during the summer, usually late July to early August. Additional sessions may be held in the fall. Please check the evaluation schedule for dates, times and locations. Private tryouts are typically available, based on coaches’ discretion. Families are asked to fill out our registration form prior to evaluations.

Some teams have multiple returning players and may be only looking for a limited number of players to improve their existing roster.

Our coaching staff will evaluate and score players based on:

  • Base running
  • Fielding
  • Hitting
  • Sportsmanship
  • Baseball IQ
  • Overall baseball fundamentals

They will choose players best suited for their roster. All players will be contacted regarding their status on the team post evaluations.

Age Group of Players

The birthday cutoff is May 1st. Whatever age a player is on April 30th of the current year, that will be their age group for the current season. For example, if a player is 12 years old as of April 30th of the current year, he is eligible for 12U or an older age group.

Time Commitment

In our commitment to player development, Rebels Travel Baseball practices and plays more games than inhouse baseball programs. Typically, our teams begin holding optional practices during the fall and winter months. Rebels’ summer season begins in January with games beginning the end of April, running through July. The schedule will be determined by the coaching staff of each team. Schedules always vary due to weather conditions and rainouts.

Number of Games

The number of games each team plays in typically decided by the team’s coaching staff. Some of our teams participate in the Kane County Baseball League (KCBL--https://www.kcbl.info/) for interleague play. Please see some general estimates below:

  • 8U: 30-35 games
  • 9U: 35-45 games
  • 10U: 45-50 games
  • 11U-12U: 50-55 games
  • 13U and up: 50+ games

In addition to interleague play, teams may also choose to play local or away tournaments.

Overnight Travel (Away Tournaments)

The coaching staff of the team will decide how many “away” tournaments played during the season. Teams may have 1-2 weekend tournaments that may require a hotel stay.
